"House Democrats this week are set to back significant spending increases for the fiscal 2020 funding bills that cover the bulk of energy and environmental programs.

Tomorrow [May 8] the House Appropriations Committee is expected to approve its top-line spending numbers for the 12 annual appropriations bills. E&E News received a draft of those figures, which have not yet been released publicly.

The Interior-EPA bill would rise by about 4.5% next year to $37.2 billion. The increase makes clear that Democrats are posed to reject the Trump administration's plan to cut EPA funding by nearly one-third in fiscal 2020."
