"NASA Refuses To Delete Statement About Climate Consensus" [1]

"NASA rejected a formal request by a group that questions climate change to remove a statement on the space agency's website about the scientific consensus on global warming.

The Competitive Enterprise Institute asked NASA to correct its assertion that "Ninety-seven percent of climate scientists agree that climate-warming trends over the past century are extremely likely due to human activities."

CEI, which has received funding from fossil fuel companies and foundations that oppose regulations, has a history of challenging climate science.

In July, CEI sent NASA an 11-page letter seeking a review of the agency's statement. The conservative think tank cited the Information Quality Act, a law passed in 2000 that allows private groups to ask federal agencies to correct information if its objectivity is in question."
