"A House panel yesterday [Wednesday] advanced legislation that would address two hot-button natural resources issues: mandatory funding for the Land and Water Conservation Fund and offshore drilling.

The Natural Resources Committee approved eight bills in a marathon markup, including legislation, H.R. 3195, to provide full, permanent funding for the LWCF, which Congress permanently reauthorized in February. The panel reported it out 21-13.

After lengthy and heated debate, lawmakers approved two separate bipartisan anti-offshore drilling bills."
