"New York Court Rules Towns Can Ban Fracking" [1]

"The Albany Court of Appeals Monday ruled New York cities and towns can ban hydraulic fracturing within their borders.

The appeals court upheld rulings that dismissed challenges to bans established in upstate towns of Dryden and Middlefield, Bloomberg reports.

The oil and gas industry might abandon fracking for natural gas in New York all together if Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) doesn't lift a statewide ban established in 2008."

Laura Barron-Lopez reports for The Hill June 30, 2014. [2]
