First World Congress of Environmental History

This inaugural Congress of the International Consortium of Environmental History Organizations (ICEHO) is being co-sponsored by Roskilde University and Malmoe University. Its theme is "Local Livelihoods and Global Challenges: Understanding Human Interaction with the Environment." Nearly 500 paper and poster presentations from more than 40 countries are expected. The Congress will draw scholars, policymakers, and land managers from around the world. Topics that will be covered include: global change, renewable energy, water resources, forest management, biodiversity, agriculture, traditional knowledge and environmental justice.
