DEADLINE: One World Media Fellowship + Grants

Event Date:
August 20, 2025

Each year, One World Media selects Fellows from around the world who are working on underreported — stories from the global south, supporting emerging journalists through training, mentorship and a reporting grant of up to £3000.

OWM Fellowship is a year-long programme for 10 storytellers in print, film, audio and multimedia.

Our Fellows have produced stories on a wide of range of topics like climate induced migration in Pakistan and drag performers in Istanbul as well as reported from as far and wide as Sierra Leone, Mexico and Armenia. Our alumni work across mediums and have had their work appear in outlets like Al Jazeera, The Baffler and National Geographic.

This year, the Fellowship is growing — with new funding partners and a range of additional grants to support different kinds of projects including:

  • Global Health Film Grant in partnership with the Financial Times and Pulitzer Center
  • Amazon Film Grant in partnership with Mongabay
  • Climate Reporting Gap Fellowship in partnership with Surge Africa

Applicants must be from and based in a global south country and working on a project that involves reporting from the global south. And this is a free opportunity to apply to. We particularly encourage submissions from underrepresented groups (people of color, ethnic groups, women, LGBTQ+, or people with disabilities).

Deadline: Aug 20, 2025
