UNCOVERED: Investigative Journalism for Europe (IJ4EU) Annual Conference

UNCOVERED is the annual conference of the IJ4EU programme. It’s organised by the European Centre for Press and Media Freedom (ECPMF) together with the International Press Institute, the European Journalism Centre, and Arena for Journalism in Europe.

On September 25, 2025, we’ll gather at Peiraios 260 in Athens, Greece to shine a spotlight on the work of investigative journalists across Europe. As always, we’ll hear directly from the teams behind some of the year’s most impactful cross-border investigations — many supported through IJ4EU — and open the floor to the kind of frank discussions our community is known for.

This year’s UNCOVERED promises the same mix of curiosity and candour. Expect a full programme of keynotes, behind-the-scenes case studies, and workshops exploring everything from press freedom to investigative techniques. We’ll also tackle the realities of life in this field — from legal pressures and burnout to the art of building resilient cross-border collaborations.

UNCOVERED will once again take place within the broader framework of the iMEdD International Journalism Forum (25–27 September), which means even more conversations, more people, and more opportunities to think about where journalism is headed all together .

UNCOVERED on 25 September is for registered participants only. If you’re planning to attend, you’ll need to register for both UNCOVERED and the iMEdD Forum. 

Once UNCOVERED is over, you’re welcome to join the full programme of the Forum starting early evening on 25 September. Just make sure you’ve signed up via the iMEdD registration page as well. Both events are free.

UNCOVERED registration opens on 17 July.
