World Conference of Science Journalists (WCSJ 2017)

Event Date:
October 26, 2017 to October 30, 2017

"Bridging Science and Societies"

Excellent science journalism has never been more essential to our complex and changing world. In October 2017, San Francisco will welcome more than 1,200 media professionals from 70 countries as they come together for the 10th World Conference of Science Journalists. At this conference, being held in the United States for the first time, writers will immerse themselves in Northern California’s rich science and technology environment as they address the future of media and the excitement and challenge of 21st-century science.

Thanks to generous support from foundations, science and media organizations, and individual donors, the World Conference of Science Journalists 2017 is excited to offer travel fellowships for professional and student attendees from the U.S. and abroad. These fellowships are intended to enable those who otherwise could not attend to join us for the conference in San Francisco, October 26-30, 2017. The grants will provide full or partial support to cover economy airfare, accommodation for the duration of the conference, and reasonable ground transport, up to a maximum amount based on the traveler’s location and circumstances. Fellowship recipients will receive complimentary meeting registration. Deadline to apply is March 15, 2017.
