"Tropical Storm Watch Issued For Parts Of Coastal Carolinas"

"COLUMBIA, S.C. — The National Hurricane Center has issued a tropical storm watch for parts of North and South Carolina.

An advisory issued at 5 p.m. Sunday says the watch stretches up the coast from the South Santee River north of McClellanville in South Carolina to Duck, North Carolina, in the northern Outer Banks.

The advisory says a stationary weather system is expected to move slowly toward the South Carolina coast later Sunday and is expected to become a tropical storm either Sunday night or Monday. Satellite wind data and buoy observations indicate maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts."
