DEADLINE: EWA National Awards for Education Reporting

The Education Writers Association's National Awards for Education Reporting open Nov. 13. These prestigious awards honor the exemplary work of journalists who have covered issues that impact kids, students, families, educators, and school communities. Journalists representing independent media from all beats, geographic regions and newsrooms are welcome to enter — and stand to win cash awards ranging from $750 to $5,000.

Examples of environmental topics relating to education reporting:

how natural disasters disrupt schooling
how immigration raids impact farmworkers and their school-age children
