DEADLINE: IWMF Lauren Brown Fellowship
The Lauren Brown Fellowship was created in memory of Lauren Alix Brown, a founding editor at Quartz Media who died in 2019 at the age of 37.
The Lauren Brown Fellowship, created by her colleagues, family, friends and peers, carries on Lauren’s legacy and impact by supporting the next generation of women journalists from underrepresented backgrounds including socioeconomic, educational and other diverse perspectives. The fellowship will fund projects proposed by women and nonbinary journalists from underrepresented backgrounds. Journalists must be based in the U.S. Grants of up to $2,000 will be awarded to support reporting projects or professional development opportunities, through a competitive application process.
Grants will support:
- Reporting that exposes under-reported and critical issues.
- Ambitious projects that challenge under-reported media narratives.
- Professional development to build field-based expertise and strengthen careers.
- Skills training and leadership opportunities.
