DEADLINE: NLGJA's CONNECT Student Journalism Training Project
Applications are open for the 2026 CONNECT: Student Journalism Training Project from NLGJA: The Association of LGBTQ+ Journalists.
CONNECT is an immersive professional development opportunity for college students and recent graduates to report, edit, photograph and produce news content at NLGJA's National Convention in San Francisco (September 6-12, 2026). Selected participants work alongside journalists from outlets including NPR, The New York Times and the Associated Press, with travel, lodging and convention registration covered. Participants also receive personalized resume and career feedback, publish their work on the CONNECT website and present their reporting during a convention session. CONNECT is open to all students, regardless of LGBTQ+ identification or NLGJA membership.
