DEADLINE: Investigation Grants for Environmental Journalism in Europe
This Journalismfund.eu's Environmental Investigative Journalism programme supports cross-border teams of professional journalists and/or news outlets investigating illegal, unreported, and unregulated environmental issues linked to European interests, both within and beyond Europe.
Supported investigations must result in publications in at least two media outlets based in different countries, with at least one being a European outlet targeting European audiences.
Next to investigations of environmental issues that transcend borders, this programme can also support and stimulate investigations that compare local environmental issues and policies between two or more places.
Financial assistance provided under this programme may cover costs related to working time and a range of expenses, including logistics, insurance, legal support, as well as access to technology and data sets.
In addition to funding, teams can get support from a mentor.
The total available amount per call to be distributed among all supported investigations will be around €400,000.
Deadlines (CET/Brussels time)
- January 22, 2026 @ 1 pm CET (Brussels time)

- August 20, 2026 @ 1 pm CET (Brussels time)
The Environmental Investigative Journalism grant programme is part of a larger initiative, The Earth Investigations Programme, supported by Arcadia.
