DEADLINE: ProPublica’s Local Reporting Network Grants
Applications are now open for the next round in ProPublica’s Local Reporting Network and we want to make sure that you don’t miss this opportunity. We’re excited to work with a new group of local journalists who are devoted to accountability and interested in working on investigative stories that are important to their communities.
If selected, a reporter and their news organization will spend a year working on deep-dive projects with financial support and editorial guidance from ProPublica. ProPublica’s Local Reporting Network pays the salary (up to $75,000) and a stipend for benefits for reporters at news organizations across the country. Journalists from all local and regional newsrooms are eligible to apply. Freelancers are also welcome to apply, but must submit a joint application with an eligible news organization willing to publish their work.
Applications are due Nov 8, 2022, at 11:59 p.m. Pacific time.
Want feedback on an idea you’re developing? You can send a written draft of your proposals to Local.Reporting@propublica.org and we will get back to you with written feedback within a few days.
Anything else you’d like to ask? Feel free to email us at Local.Reporting@propublica.org.
Entries will be judged principally by ProPublica editors. Selected proposals will be announced by October.
