DEADLINE: World Press Photo Contest

The annual World Press Photo Contest recognizes and celebrates the best photojournalism and documentary photography produced over the last year. Entering is free and prizes include up to €6,000, inclusion in our annual traveling exhibition, and more.

Entries to the 2024 World Press Photo Contest are open December 1, 2023 until January 11, 2024, for professional photography in combination with, but not limited to, audio and visual elements like video, animation, graphics, illustrations, sound or text.

As a step towards increasing the level of international representation, the 2024 Photo Contest will work with a regional system that includes six regions:

• Africa
• Asia
• Europe
• North and Central America
• South America
• Southeast Asia and Oceania

Per region, entrants can submit their work to four format-based categories:

• Singles
• Stories
• Long-Term Projects
• Open Format

Regional winners each receive EUR1,000. Four global winners will also receive EUR5,000 each.
