"Lead Found in Utica’S Elementary Schools"

"Twenty percent of the drinking fountains and faucets at Utica elementary schools tested positive for lead, according to results of a voluntary testing program released Tuesday.

Out of 325 source outlets tested, 65 tested positive for lead and have been turned off, Superintendent James Willis said.

The district is expecting to spend approximately $15,000 out of the general fund to replace the outlets, which include 50 drinking fountains and 15 water faucets. They will be replaced by Dec. 1."
