Oklahoma: "Insurer Says Oil Companies Caused Quakes, Wants Money Back"

"An insurance company is suing oil companies in Oklahoma, saying their disposal operations caused the state's largest earthquake.

Steadfast Insurance Co. paid about $325,000 to the Pawnee Nation for damage it sustained in a magnitude 5.8 earthquake in September 2016. It's suing to recover the money.

Steadfast, a subsidiary of Zurich Holding Company of America Inc., filed suit in U.S. District Court in Tulsa last month against EnerVest Operating LLC and six other oil companies that operate in the area where the quake was centered. The tribe has also sued some of the same companies."
