"State Parks, Aquariums And Art Museums Observe Earth Day"

"RALEIGH — There are many ways to show appreciation and conservation of planet Earth, and a variety of “preserve the planet” experiences are planned at venues within the N.C. Department of Natural and Cultural Resources. There are opportunities to participate all across the state, from Friday-Sunday, April 20-22.

The main event locally will occur at the North Carolina Zoo, 4401 Zoo Pkwy., Asheboro, on Saturday, beginning at 10 a.m. Party for the Planet will celebrate Mother Earth and the blue planet. Visitors can explore ways to help the planet through water conservation, protecting green spaces and living the green life.

The day-long Party for the Planet will feature live music, crafts and more. It’s free with zoo admission.

However, there are other options around the state."
