"White House: Trump Nominates Mary Neumayr as CEQ Head"

"The White House announced tonight that it has picked its new nominee to lead a key environmental office.

President Trump is nominating Mary Neumayr as chairwoman of the Council on Environmental Quality. She currently is the highest-ranking official at the council, which coordinates environmental policy and regulations across agencies.

he White House's first nominee, Kathleen Hartnett White, withdrew from consideration earlier this year amid opposition from Democrats and some Republicans. She had rejected mainstream climate science.

Neumayr is a Capitol Hill veteran who has been helming the ship as the top slot remained vacant."
