    Earlier this year, award-winning science journalist Barbara Moran was the recipient of a Fund for Environmental Journalism grant for her proposal to produce articles examining the impact on environmental pollution and public health of industrial laundries in New England.     The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' 12th Report on Carcinogens, released June 2011, includes 8 new substances: industrial chemical formaldehyde and a botanical known as aristolochic acids, as well as captafol, cobalt-tungsten carbide, certain inhalable glass wool fibers, o-nitrotoluene, riddelliine, and styrene.
