"Baltimore Struggles To Protect Children From Lead Paint" [1]

"When a doctor found that Kenicer Carty's 1-year-old daughter had a dangerously high level of lead last year, it triggered an alarm of sorts. Officials sent an inspector to Carty's 1930 row house in northeast Baltimore. It turned out that every single window had hazardous chipping lead paint."

Bay Cleanup Threatened By Nutrients Flowing Past Conowingo Dam: Study [19]

"After 87 years, the ability of the 14-mile-long reservoir behind the Conowingo Dam to trap sediment and nutrients coming down the Susquehanna River has largely ceased, threatening the region’s ability to meet Bay cleanup goals, a multi-year study concludes."

"Supreme Court Refuses To Hear Bay Cleanup Challenge" [29]

"The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday ended a five-year legal challenge to the Chesapeake Bay cleanup plan, rejecting without comment the American Farm Bureau Federation’s request that the court hear its argument that the federal government is effectively seizing land use authority from state and local governments. The decision removes any legal cloud from the pursuit of the Bay pollution reduction strategy imposed by the Environmental Protection Agency.
