TOOLBOX: EPA Adds 6,300 Chemicals and 3,800 Facilities to Database
Journalists and the public will have more information about potentially toxic chemicals in public commerce now that EPA has added 6,300 chemicals and 3,800 facilities to its main online searchable database.
The Envirofacts database is really a gateway that offers easy one-stop shopping to anyone investigating environmental stories. Recently EPA moved to expand public access to information it collects under the Toxic Substances Control Act. A major part of that TSCA information has previously been restricted or hard for the public to get at.
