Science Writers and Communicators of Canada 2023 Conference

The Science Writers and Communicators of Canada's 2023 conference takes place June 4-6 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The theme is Back to Basics. The last in-person SWCC conference was in 2019... How many cultural norms have we forgotten? How many skills have become dusty and rusty? SWCC 2023 is about getting on a plane or train again, catching up with old friends, and remembering what it's like to be a part of events in person. The 2023 SWCC Conference will cover all your basics: journalism, communications, science, socializing, fun, and more!

The conference team is building a program that covers many communications vehicles — print, social media, humour and more — and touches on all the big topics that preoccupy us including, but not limited to, climate change, health, reconciliation, and trust in science.
