"An advocacy group is asking EPA to collect more data on lead in drinking water following the agency's continual delay in revamping its Lead and Copper Rule.
In a petition for rulemaking, Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility asks EPA to require states and small water systems to submit drinking water sampling results regardless of how much lead they find.
Currently, results must be submitted only if more than 10 percent of samples taken show more than 15 parts per billion of lead.
PEER is also asking EPA to require water systems to submit information about the number and location of lead pipes in their coverage area."
