"Interior: Watchdog Finds No Problems With Zinke's Speech, Travels"

"The independent Office of Special Counsel has cleared Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke of allegations that he skated over the line in a 2017 speech to the Vegas Golden Knights ice hockey team.

In a newly disclosed May 31 letter, the watchdog agency advised Zinke that his speech had not violated the Hatch Act. The law, passed in 1939, prohibits most federal executive branch officials from engaging in partisan political activities.

"There is no evidence or allegation ... that Secretary Zinke gave a political speech or otherwise engaged in political activity during this event," the OSC's two-page letter stated."
