Michigan: "Invasive Reed Poses Challenge To Habitat Project"

"State wants to improve wildlife habitat in St. Johns Marsh but some worry about possible impacts from using herbicide"

"CLAY TWP. - A proposed $1.6 million project to rehabilitate St. Johns Marsh for waterfowl habitat that was supposed to have started by fall 2017 has instead languished because of permitting problems.

And not all people who live near the marsh are unhappy about that.

A proposal to use the herbicide glyphosate to at least initially knock down an invasive reed has many residents concerned. Some of them have even formed a Facebook page called Stop Spraying Poison In St. John's Marsh!!! to protest the plans."
