"Conservative Group Warns Against House Energy Bill"

"Heritage Action for America said it has significant concerns with the House’s energy reform bill and is pushing conservatives to vote against it.

The lobbying arm of the Heritage Foundation, which holds strong sway in the Republican Party’s right wing, is warning Congress that the bill has provisions that are unnecessary or would interfere with the free market of the energy industry.

The bill, dubbed the North American Energy Security and Infrastructure Act, represents an comprehensive attempt by Rep. Fred Upton (R-Mich.) and his colleagues to make bipartisan, if not significant, reforms to the way the federal government regulates various parts of the energy world.

Heritage Action expects the bill to be considered by the full House next week, though House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) has not announced a firm schedule for consideration."
