"With Boost To NIH Budget, Senate Panel Rejects Trump's Plan To Slash Agency" [1]

"In a stark rejection of President Donald Trump's plan to dramatically slash federally funded biomedical research in 2026, a Senate funding committee today approved a draft bill that instead gives the National Institutes of Health (NIH) a modest raise of $400 million. It also disregards Trump's plan to gut the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)."

EPA Climate Rollback Based On Document Authored By 5 Climate Contrarians [28]

"In one of its most significant reversals on climate policy to-date, the Trump administration on Tuesday proposed to repeal a 2009 scientific finding that human-caused climate change endangers human health and safety, EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin announced." "The repeal was based in part on a hastily produced report — authored by five researchers who have spent years sowing doubt in the scientific consensus around climate change — that questions the severity of the impacts of climate change."

"These Companies Avoided Clean-Air Rules. It Took a Single Email." [40]

"In March, the Trump administration created a novel way for companies to potentially avoid complying with environmental rules: Simply send an email to the Environmental Protection Agency and request an exemption. In response, representatives of at least 15 coal-burning power plants, four steel mills, four chemical facilities and two mines wrote emails to the E.P.A. this spring, according to documents reviewed by The New York Times."
