Recall of Cadmium-Tainted Glasses by McDonald's Sparks Debate [1]

"As McDonald's today took the next step in recalling 12 million Shrek drinking glasses found to contain elevated levels of cadmium, both the company and the Consumer Product Safety Commission sought to tamp down concerns about the risk of the hazardous metal increasingly replacing lead in popular products."

Manufacturing Plants Are Source of Drugs in Waterways [6]

Wastewater treatment plants can't mitigate the problem, which is compounded by other sources of water contamination, such as drugs that end up in landfills or flushed down toilets, and metabolites or unutilized drugs that pass through people who take the drugs.
