DEADLINE: Osborn Elliott Prize for Excellence in Journalism on Asia [1]

The Asia Society's annual "Oz Prize" of $10,000 is awarded to a reporter or team of reporters who has produced the best example of journalism about Asia during the calendar year. Evaluation criteria include impact of the work, its originality, creativity, depth of research and educational value in informing the public about Asia. Deadline: Mar 17, 2025.

SEJ Member Spotlight: Sara Peach [19]

The inaugural 2016 Media on the Move Spotlight is on Sara Peach. Sara has been a member of SEJ since 2008 and is part of a news team that won $150,000 in the Knight News Challenge. Mineral Arts & Residencies in Washington state will host writers of prose and poetry in their historic school house near Mount Rainier for fall 2023 and spring 2024 two-week residency sessions. $425 includes room, board and more.
