There is a green revolution happening at America’s schools as they prepare the next generation of environmentally aware problem solvers, and California schools are leading the way. They are saving millions through energy efficiency and keeping students and teachers healthy and productive. 

The conference will provide a forum, divided into eight themes, to address the crisis facing our oceans, new knowledge and innovative tools to address the challenge, and the policy and governance needed to restore and protect the oceans.

Local and national planning committees have begun gathering conference ideas for review. Plans include dozens of panels, field trips, newsmaker briefings, Freelance Pitchfest, world-class speakers, 2010 Awards for Excellence in Health Care Journalism luncheon and more. Preceding this year’s National Wetlands Awards Ceremony, the Environmental Law Institute will host a panel discussion that will include a look at new wetland restoration efforts, collecting data to show economic benefits, developments on greenhouse gas offsets, and how to adapt and protect wetlands from future loss.

On Earth Day, the University of Toronto will host a free presentation of research conducted by members of its Centre for Environment.
