NAHJ Panel: Galápagos: Challenges for the Evolution of Journalism in the Islands Darwin Made Famous [6]

The National Association of Hispanic Journalists is convening a panel in Miami, during SEJ's 21st Annual Conference, on the Galápagos, a UNESCO World Heritage Site standing at a critical crossroad. This panel of Latino journalists, including residents of the archipelago, will explore the need to create professional and uncensored media outlets and help Galapagueños become better informed about what’s at stake. TVA Public Relations Staff Edited Engineer's Report on Failed Coal-Ash Dam [10]

Dam inspections began before the Dec. 2008 spill incident of 5.4 million cubic yards of coal-ash slurry in Tennessee. Afterward, the initial draft engineer's report of the pre-spill inspection noted several eroded areas needed to be fixed "immediately;" the word was subsequently struck from the report.
