"EPA Looking to Push Back Dirty Wood Stoves Deadline to Nov. 30"

"The EPA is looking to relax Friday’s deadline for businesses to stop selling older, dirtier residential wood stoves.

The Environmental Protection Agency said it is proposing (RIN:2060-AU87) to give retailers until Nov. 30 to sell the outdated woodstoves.

EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler said the additional time will give businesses an opportunity to recover sales that have been lost due to the stay-at-home directives caused by the coronavirus health crisis.

“More than 90 percent of manufacturers and retailers of wood stoves are small businesses, many of which have experienced significant losses in retail sales. This action will provide economic relief to these employers as America begins to reopen its businesses,” Wheeler said in a statement."
