"EPA Considers Restricting 66 Pollutants in Drinking Water"

"The Environmental Protection Agency said Monday that it’s taking steps to regulate 66 possible contaminants in drinking water, including PFAS chemicals.

The contaminants are included in Draft Contaminant Candidate List 5, which the EPA said provides the most recent update for contaminants now in, or soon may be in, public drinking water systems but aren’t subject to the agency’s drinking water rules.

The draft list includes individual chemicals, 12 microbes and three chemical groups, including per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), cyanotoxins, and disinfection byproducts."
