ELI Annual Award Dinner [1]

ELI (the Environmental Law Institute) will present the 2013 Environmental Achievement Award to former US Secretary of State George P. Shultz and "green" philanthropist Thomas F. Steyer to recognize their outstanding leadership to reduce climate change and advance clean energy. The Award will be presented to Shultz and Steyer at ELI’s annual dinner on Tuesday evening, October 22 at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C.

Levee Agency To Sue Oil, Gas Companies To Restore Louisiana Wetlands [27]

"The regional levee authority overseeing East Bank flood protection will file a lawsuit Wednesday against dozens of oil, gas and pipeline companies aimed at forcing them to repair damage to a buffer zone of wetlands and ridges 'that helps protect the greater New Orleans region from catastrophic flooding,' according to a press release from the agency."
