The American Society of Civil Engineers' Environmental & Water Resources Institute (EWRI) invites you to the 2011 World Environmental & Water Resources Congress in Palm Springs on May 22-26, 2011. This year's technical program focuses on “Bearing Knowledge for Sustainability,” to help the environmental and engineering community integrate sustainability into their work.

Poor, Mexican-American CA Kids Have High Levels of Flame Retardants

"Mexican American school children in California are contaminated with seven times more flame retardants than children in Mexico and three times more than their own mothers, according to a new study. The 7-year-olds in the Salinas Valley had more of the chemicals in their bodies than almost all other people tested worldwide."

DEADLINE: USC Annenberg Mini Fellowship/Reporting Grant

Call for Applications! Based at USC's Annenberg School of Journalism, The California Endowment Health Journalism Fellowships offer professional journalists this opportunity to apply for an all-expenses-paid mini fellowship with $2,000-$10,000 reporting grant. Grantees spend the week of July 24 - 29, 2011 in Los Angeles. Students are ineligible. Apply by May 2, 2011.
