Industry Leadership Forum on Arctic Sustainable Development [1]

The World Ocean Council (WOC) Arctic Business Leadership Council meeting marks the start of an ongoing forum for multi-sectoral collaboration among responsible companies on the future of the Arctic. The gathering will bring together representatives of shipping, oil and gas, fisheries, aquaculture, tourism, marine science/technology and other industries with interests in the Arctic.

Texas Judge Gives TransCanada OK To Condemn Land For Keystone Pipeline [21]

"PARIS, Texas -- The developer of the disputed Keystone XL oil pipeline, planned to carry oil from Canadian tar sands to Texas Gulf Coast refineries, may condemn land across a northeast Texas farm for the pipeline's right of way, a judge ruled Wednesday."

House Considers Quashing Report on Carcinogens [30]

For years, scientists at the National Toxicology Program have published the "Report on Carcinogens," which lists chemicals known to (or believed to) cause cancer. The "12th Report on Carcinogens" was released on June 10, 2011 — will there be a 13th? Some House Republicans want to stop updating and publication of the report.
