DEADLINE: Journalismfund's The Invisible Life Grant [1]

This program supports cross-border teams of professional journalists and/or news outlets investigating issues related to farm animal welfare and European interests, both within and beyond Europe. Two application rounds are scheduled for this grant program in 2026: Thursday 27 August 2026 at 1 pm CET (Brussels time) and Thursday 29 October 2026 at 1 pm CET (Brussels time).

Author Scott Weidensaul highlights winning initiatives, such as rewilding, innovations to protect puffins and more, along with appraisals of less fruitful projects. Climate Data Site Spiked, Resurrected by Ex-NOAA Employees [12]

An effort by the Trump administration to tank a highly useful data source on climate change trends has met impressive resistance — in the form of a group of fired NOAA staffers who have rebuilt the climate.gov website stripped by the federal government.
